Our Healthy School Approach

We are proud to be a Healthy School, and this is reflected in our policies and curriculum.

We recognise the importance of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, and believe that establishing good habits early supports children’s wellbeing and learning.

Healthy eating is explicitly taught across:

  • Science

  • PSHE

  • Design & Technology

  • PE

Through these subjects, children develop the knowledge and skills needed to make healthy choices for life.

We believe that healthy children are best able to take full advantage of the educational opportunities that school provides.

Snack Guidance

At Wisewood Community Primary School, our healthy school ethos is supported through daily practice. We encourage all children to bring a healthy snack to enjoy during morning break, helping to promote sustained energy and concentration throughout the school day.

All children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 are provided with a daily selection of fresh fruit or vegetables as part of the national School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme.
