Welcome to the Badgers Class
Your teachers are Ms Wales and Ms Jama
Did you know?
Ms Wales absolutely loves running
Whether she’s jogging before school, training on local trails, or proudly taking part in marathons, running brings her so much joy. Her enthusiasm for staying active helps make the classroom a positive, energetic place where motivation and perseverance can shine!
Did you know?
Ms Jama loves to cook
When she’s not in the classroom, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, trying new flavours and perfecting her favourite dishes. Cooking lets her unwind, be creative, and explore a wide range of delicious recipes.
Our Year 1 and Year 2 classroom is an exciting place to be, filled with curiosity, creativity and discovery. Every day brings new opportunities to explore, learn and grow together.
Children learn through a mix of stories, phonics (through Read Write Inc.), practical tasks, problem‑solving, outdoor adventures and hands‑on activities that help them build confidence and independence. Whether we are investigating something new, working as a team or practising important skills, there is always something engaging happening in our classroom.
Our learning environment is bright, happy and welcoming. We encourage everyone to be curious, kind and brave in their learning—celebrating effort, progress and the unique talents every child brings.
Learning in our mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class feels like an adventure, and we can’t wait to share an exciting year of teamwork, discovery and achievement together.

We are very committed to building strong home / school links. We know that education is the most effective when there is a positive partnership between home and school.
In Badgers Class:
- Children are encouraged to read at home every night with an adult. The texts will be selected by the teacher and will match their phonic phase and stage of learning
- Spelling and maths activities (often with a ‘Times Table’ focus) are set every week.
Useful equipment to have at home:
- Pens
- Pencils
- Ruler
- Colouring Pencils
- Dictionary
