Welcome to the Weasel's Class
Your teachers is Ms Johnstone
Did you know?
Ms Johnstone loves rugby
Whether she’s training with her team, cheering from the side-lines, or getting stuck into a competitive match, rugby is a huge passion of hers. She enjoys the teamwork, determination and resilience the sport inspires — qualities she brings into her classroom every day. Her love for the game helps encourage pupils to be active, confident and ready to tackle new challenges!
Year 5 is an exciting and empowering year where pupils take on new challenges and grow into confident, independent learners. Children can expect engaging lessons, inspiring topics and plenty of opportunities to think critically, work creatively and collaborate with their classmates.
The classroom is a supportive and welcoming space where everyone is encouraged to try their best, celebrate their progress and develop skills that prepare them for their final years of primary school.
From hands-on learning to memorable projects, Year 5 is full of fun, ambition and incredible learning moments.

We are very committed to building strong home / school links. We know that education is the most effective when there is a positive partnership between home and school.
In Weasels Class:
- Children are encouraged to read at home every night.
- This reading may be texts (both fiction and non-fiction) and/or newspapers.
- We ask that adults at home question them about their reading to check understanding on at least three occasions weekly and support children with the development of their vocabulary.
- Spelling and maths activities will be set every week. Parents can request a hard copy of this learning from the child’s class teacher.
- We ask that parents/carers encourage their children to work as independently as possible on the activities provided.
Useful equipment to have at home:
- Pens
- Pencils
- Ruler
- Colouring Pencils
